Jim “Omelette” Murphy is a friend of big business and the rich. He voted AGAINST laws which would have made tax avoidance much harder. Perhaps it was because he receives donations from big business and rich individuals?
For instance, from 10 March 2014 to 10 October 2014 our illustrious branch office manager candidate received the use of a research assistant from Pricewaterhouse Coopers LLP, admittedly he did share this person with another MP but the total cost would have been £54250. A decent gift from the arch tax avoiders and tax avoidance advisers. But this gift in kind came after his vote, perhaps as a way of saying thank you?
On the 25th October 2013 he received a gift of £10000 from Mr Alan Sharr, ostensibly for his office. But who is Alan Sharr I hear you ask? Well he is none other than the Principal of Marriotts Chartered Accountants, specialists in “Tax Minimisation.”
On 6 June 2011 he received some “Policy Advice” from non other than our old friends Pricewaterhouse Coppers LLP which had a value of £15000. No wonder he voted against tax avoidance laws.
